Recital Information

This year our annual recital will be held at:

Hanover Area Jr/Sr High School
1600 Sans Souci Parkway
Hanover Township, PA 18706

 

Dress Rehearsal – Friday, May 29 beginning at 4:30pm

Recital Shows – Saturday, May 30 at 12pm and 5pm

 

Costumes

All costumes should be in your possession now.

TIGHTS – All tights were available at the desk starting last Thursday for any students who still needed them. If you haven’t picked up your tights yet, we will have them in the office Wednesday and at the front desk Thursday.

 

Hair

Hair tutorials can be found in the parents’ facebook group. Hair for each class is posted below.

Some helpful hair accessories to have on hand include:

  • Hair ties that match hair color
  • Tiny clear elastic hair ties
  • Bobby pins
  • Hair spray
  • Hair gel

 

Hair for Dances

  • Tuesday Preschool hip hop – Big Bad Wolf – Space buns using both red hair ties on each side – tutorial posted in private parent fb group
  • Tuesday Preschool Ballet – Into The Unknown – low bun (using bun form for hair is easiest as shown in tutorial in private parent fb group) tiara on top of head be sure to secure with bobby pins please 🙂
  • Tuesday Preschool Jazz – Mermaid Party – High ponytail comes with round hairpiece which can be pinned into right side of head next to ponytail.
  • Tuesday ages 6-8 Hip Hop – Walk It Out – high ponytail hair bow has an attached barrette pin into top of ponytail. Secure with extra bobby pins *boys- add some gel and have a blast 😉
  • Tuesday ages 6-8 Jazz – Boogie Shoes – high ponytail using metallic ponytail holder
  • Tuesday ages 6-8 Ballet – Waltz Of The Flowers – low bun (using bun form for hair is easiest as shown in tutorial in private parent fb group) – Flower headpiece to be pinned in to right side of bun
  • Tuesday ages 6-8 Tap – Trickle Trickle – low ponytail using metallic ponytail holder
  • Tuesday Ages 9 plus Ballet – Spring – low bun flowers around outside of bun
  • All 9 + Routines – lyrical, tap, hip hop, jazz – low ponytail parted in middle slicked no flyaways, use a ponytail holder the color of your hair please!!! Please attach any hairpieces to right side of ponytail and utilize hair scrunchies provided as well.
  • Thursday Preschool Ballet – When You Wish Upon A Star – low bun (using bun form for hair is easiest as shown in tutorial in private parent fb group)- tiara on top of head be sure to secure with bobby pins please 🙂
  • Thursday Preschool Tap – Rockin Robin – low bun (using bun form for hair is easiest as shown in tutorial in private parent fb group)- purple feather pinned on right side of bun
  • Thursday Preschool Hip Hop – It’s a Small World – High ponytail hair piece pinned into right side of ponytail

 

Makeup

Below you’ll find the makeup that will be needed for all performances including recitals and competitions. Parents are responsible for their dancer’s makeup. You may be able to find it locally in stores or links are provided to purchase online.

Eyeshadow – COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Eye Shadow, Urban Basics

Bronzer – COVERGIRL Cheekers Blendable Powder Bronzer, Golden Tan

Lipstick – Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick Makeup, Brick Red

Eyeliner – Black

Mascara  – Black

Foundation – Liquid or powder to match skin tone

 

Dress Rehearsal

May 29, 2026 beginning at 4:30pm for the 12pm Show and 6:30pm for the 5pm Show.

Our dress rehearsal is a full run through of our recital shows and everyone needs to wear costumes, makeup, and have proper hair.

When driving into the venue make the left into the parking lot and use the glass doors to enter the building.

Once you pass the cafeteria next is the gymnasium where you can utilize for changing. ALL TAP SHOES MUST BE PUT ON AFTER LEAVING THE GYM. NO TAPS ON THE GYM FLOOR. Please feel free to bring changing tents, blankets for the floor, only one set of doors will be unlocked to be used.

ABSOLUTLEY NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE GYM. All food can be eaten in the cafeteria or just outside the cafeteria.

Please do not make our new friends at the Hanover High School upset with us for any reason! They have been extremely gracious and we are hoping to utilize the school in the future.

After you pass the gym next is the auditorium doors and next is the hallway we will be using to take the students backstage.

 

If you are in the 12pm Recital Show

We will start with number 1 and move down the line,  so you do not have to wait the whole time. We will move through as fast as possible. It is just a rehearsal but we would like you to wear costumes and hair and makeup so you will get an idea how the actual show will go! We will go down the list until we are finished. It’s hard to say exactly when you will go on it is always a little hectic rehearsal night, people will be doing things and running around, and if we run into any issues we can be set back.

If you are starting off the show we would like to start no later than 4:45 to give everyone some time to get there from school. Do your best and we will make it work!!

If you are in the 5pm Recital Show

If you are in the second show (or end of the 1st) you can come for 6:30 instead of 4:30.

Competition Students

You will only need to do your groups for the first show for rehearsal. Once we get through the first show we will move directly into the 2nd starting with Production opening number. You will only be doing production to start the 2nd show for rehearsal.

We do not know how long this will take and all students under the age of 10 will need a parent with them for the evening. No one under the age of 10 can be left alone for the night and must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Recital

May 30, 2026

We will be collecting and selling tickets at the door.

In the cafeteria we will be selling food and drinks for both shows. ABSOLUTLEY NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE GYM.

We will be live-streaming the show in the gym so everyone will know where we are at in the show.

During the recital shows our backstage moms will come to get your child for their number about 5 routines before and walk them back so you can watch them from your seat. Be sure to have them ready and in the back to go backstage with our helpers.
